Letras Góticas: Gothic Letters Converter and Guide 2026 (Copy and Paste)
Letras góticas (gothic letters) give any name or bio a dark, old-world look: 𝔏𝔢𝔱𝔯𝔞𝔰 𝔤𝔬́𝔱𝔦𝔠𝔞𝔰. They’re popular for Instagram bios, Discord servers, TikTok names and gaming tags. This guide gives you a gothic letter converter, explains where the style comes from, and shows the one problem every Spanish speaker runs into: ñ and accents don’t turn gothic.
Want every style at once? Use our main conversor de letras.
Letras Góticas Converter
Type your text and copy the style you want. These are real Unicode characters, so they paste as text anywhere that supports them, not as images.
Accented letters and ñ have no gothic version in Unicode. The converter keeps the letter and adds the accent mark on top, which looks right on most phones but not everywhere.
What Are Gothic Letters?
"Gothic letters" is what most people call blackletter, the heavy, angular handwriting style used across Europe in the Middle Ages. Gutenberg printed his famous Bible in a blackletter type in the 1450s, and one version of it, Fraktur, stayed the everyday typeface for German printing for centuries. The Nazi regime actually banned Fraktur from official use in 1941, which is part of why it disappeared from everyday print.
Today the look is everywhere: metal band logos, tattoos, streetwear, newspaper mastheads and, of course, social media bios.
How Gothic Letters Work in Unicode
Gothic letters you copy from a converter aren't a font. They're separate characters from Unicode's Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, added in 2001 so mathematicians could write symbols like 𝔤 and 𝔄. Because they're characters, not styling, they keep their look when you paste them into Instagram, TikTok or Discord.

There's a quirk most converters handle quietly: five gothic capitals, ℭ, ℌ, ℑ, ℜ and ℨ, already existed in an older Unicode block called Letterlike Symbols. So the math block leaves gaps for them, and a good converter has to pull those five from a different place. A badly built converter shows empty boxes for C, H, I, R and Z. Ours fills them correctly.
| Style | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Gothic (Fraktur) | 𝔊𝔬́𝔱𝔦𝔠𝔞 | Classic blackletter look, thin strokes |
| Bold gothic | 𝕲𝖔́𝖙𝖎𝖈𝖆 | Heavier, easier to read at small sizes |
| Gothic with frame | ✝ 𝔊𝔬́𝔱𝔦𝔠𝔞 ✝ | Adds symbols around the name |
The Ñ and Accent Problem
Here's the part English-language guides skip. Unicode's gothic alphabet only covers the 26 basic letters A to Z. There is no gothic ñ, á, é, í, ó, ú or ü. So if your name is "Begoña" or "Andrés," a basic converter gives you a mix: gothic letters with a plain ñ or é stuck in the middle.

There are two ways around it, and our converter shows both:
- Add the accent on top. Write the gothic n or e, then add a combining accent mark (the little tilde or acute floating above). It looks right on most modern phones, but some apps and older devices draw the accent off to the side.
- Keep the plain letter. Leave ñ and accented vowels as normal letters. It's less pretty, but it always displays.
If the accent looks wrong where you paste it, switch to the "plain ñ" version.
Where You Can Use Gothic Letters
- Instagram: bio and display name. See our letras para Instagram guide.
- TikTok: bio and nickname. More in fuentes para TikTok.
- Discord: server names, channel names, nicknames and bios. See letras para Discord.
- WhatsApp: statuses, group names and your "about." See letras para WhatsApp.
- Free Fire and other games: some in-game names accept them, but many limit characters. Our Free Fire names guide covers it.
Usernames (the @handle) on most platforms only allow plain letters, numbers and a few symbols, so gothic letters usually won't work there. Use them in the display name and bio instead.
Readability and Accessibility
Gothic letters look great but they cost readability. Some people find blackletter hard to read, especially in long text. And because these are math symbols, screen readers may read them out letter by letter as "mathematical fraktur capital L" or skip them, which makes your bio confusing for people who use one.

A good rule: use gothic letters for a name or a short phrase, and keep the important stuff (what you do, links, contact) in plain text.

Preguntas frecuentes
How do I write in gothic letters?
Type your text in the converter above and copy the gothic style. The letters are Unicode characters, so you can paste them into Instagram, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp and most apps.
Why don't ñ and accents turn gothic?
Unicode only has gothic versions of A to Z. There is no gothic ñ or accented vowel, so converters either leave them plain or add a combining accent mark on top of the gothic letter.
Why do some gothic letters show as boxes?
Either the device reading your text doesn't have a font with those characters, or the converter used the wrong code for C, H, I, R or Z. Those five gothic capitals live in a different Unicode block.
Can I use gothic letters in my username?
Usually not. Most platforms only allow plain letters, numbers and a few symbols in the @username. Use gothic letters in your display name and bio instead.
Conclusión
Gothic letters are an easy way to give a name or bio a dark, dramatic look. Use the converter above, pick plain or accented versions for ñ and vowels depending on where you paste, and keep them to short names so people can still read you. For more styles, try the full conversor de letras.
